Ride The Inspiration Wave

Have you ever had something that felt like a great opportunity? A sink or swim moment in time, a new idea that could explode, or just implode. If I work on this thing now - it will just work, I can feel it.

I always try to grab new opportunities and the immense inspiring moments that come with them. At the start of a project there can be a huge surge in energy, ideas and progress and I think this is due to the hope and ‘what if x happened'  thoughts that pop up. This moment is a vital point in a project and it is a time to not worry about the various negative outcomes and to keep focusing on the positive.

At the beginning of a project when inspiration is high it is easy to overlook the details and the mountain you have to climb, and I think that is a great thing. At this moment ANYTHING seems possible, and that is just a crazy enough concept for you to actually act on it and start working towards it.

At this starting point of a new project - this make or break moment - keep the inspiration flowing and keep everything positive, there are a couple of things I do to keep inspired and to grab this moment..

Ignore negative thoughts. Forget the reasons why something won’t work and instead WILL it to happen. We are all given two arms and two legs, we all have the same skills/opportunities to begin with - if you WANT it more than the other person, you will get there.

Keep learning. No matter which direction your project takes remember that you are learning new things and that is great in itself.

Don’t be afraid of failure. This is really important. Many great people fail all of the time and it is just part of the process. If you get knocked back by life - make sure you punch it straight back in the face and kick its ass!

Act fast. Don’t wait one more minute, strike whilst the iron is hot and make something happen today.

The next time an opportunity comes your way, make sure you grab it and ride the inspiration wave.
